5-Day Gorilla & Chimpanzee Trekking + Uganda Wildlife Safari
Day 1 - Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Equator
- Your journey begins with a pickup from your hotel or the airport by your private guide, who brings over 16 years of experience in Ugandan safaris. Travel comfortably in a well-equipped Land Cruiser, complete with tablets offering movies for your entertainment along the way.
- On the way, stop at the Equator for lunch. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy a good meal, take iconic photos at the equator line, and explore local craft shops for souvenirs.
- Arrive later at the edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you can relax and settle in after the drive, ready for the adventure ahead.
Day 2 - Game Drive Queen Elizabeth National Park and Boat Safari
- Start your morning with a drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s top wildlife destinations. The park is known for its rich variety of animals, including lions, elephants, buffaloes and leopards.
- In the afternoon, set off on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, home to one of the world’s largest hippo populations. You’ll glide past massive pods of hippos, crocodiles basking on the banks, and large herds of elephants and buffaloes coming to drink. Few places in Africa offer such consistent and close-up encounters with wildlife.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking at Kalinzu
- This morning you’ll start with chimpanzee trekking in Kalinzu Forest, a scenic reserve known for its wild chimpanzee population. With the help of experienced local guides, you’ll track a chimp group and, once found, spend up to one hour observing their behavior in the wild. It's a raw, unfiltered wildlife experience that gives real insight into how these primates live.
- After the trek, we continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where tomorrow brings another remarkable encounter.
- Driving Time: 4 hours
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
- Today you’ll trek in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. After a short briefing, set off with your guide into the forest to track one of the habituated gorilla families. Once located, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour observing them up close — playing, moving through the trees, and interacting with each other in their natural environment.
- This is the highlight of any trip to Uganda and an experience that leaves a lasting impression.
- After the trek, continue your adventure to Lake Bunyonyi.
- Driving Time: 1-2 hours
Day 5 - Lake Bunyonyi And Return to Entebbe
- Start your day at Lake Bunyonyi, one of the most beautiful and serene spots in Uganda. Surrounded by terraced hills and dotted with 29 small islands, this lake is Africa’s second deepest — and completely free of crocodiles and hippos, making it ideal for a peaceful experience.
- For guests with a late-night flight, an optional canoe trek (available at an extra cost) offers a final bit of adventure and a chance to explore the lake more closely.
- Afterwards, begin your scenic drive back to Entebbe, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
- Driving Time: 6-7 hours
