4-Day Gorilla Trekking and Uganda Wildlife Safari
Day 1 - Lake Mburo National Park Game Drive
- Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at your hotel or Entebbe Airport, where your private driver picks you up in a comfortable safari Land Cruiser equipped with tablets for entertainment during the drive.
- Enjoy a scenic journey with a stop at the Equator — a great photo opportunity and a chance to browse local craft stalls.
- Continue to Lake Mburo National Park, a small but wildlife-rich park known for its open savannah and rolling hills. Look out for giraffes, zebras, impalas, buffaloes, elands, and hippos as you head out for an evening game drive.
- Drive Time: 5 hours
Day 2 - Bahima Cultural Visit & Drive to Bwindi’s Ancient Forest
- Start your day with a walk through grazing lands to a Bahima homestead, where you'll learn about the traditions of this cattle-keeping community. Get a close look at the Ankole long-horned cows, try milking, watch how ghee is made, and taste fresh milk.
- This hands-on visit offers a genuine insight into rural life in western Uganda.
- Afterwards, continue your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
- Drive Time: 4-5 hours
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
- Today you’ll trek in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. After a short briefing, set off with your guide into the forest to track one of the habituated gorilla families. Once located, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour observing them up close — playing, moving through the trees, and interacting with each other in their natural environment.
- This is the highlight of any trip to Uganda and an experience that leaves a lasting impression.
- After the trek, continue your adventure to Lake Bunyonyi.
- Drive Time: 1-2 hours
Day 4 - Lake Bunyonyi & Return to Entebbe
- Start your day at Lake Bunyonyi, one of the most beautiful and serene spots in Uganda. Surrounded by terraced hills and dotted with 29 small islands, this lake is Africa’s second deepest — and completely free of crocodiles and hippos, making it ideal for a peaceful experience.
- For guests with a late-night flight, an optional canoe trek (available at an extra cost) offers a final bit of adventure and a chance to explore the lake more closely. Afterwards, begin your scenic drive back to Entebbe, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
- Drive Time: 6-7 hours.
